NTT DoCoMo, Inc. announced today that the FOMA(R) N2051 3G handset, which offers extended stand-by time and the ability to e-mail video clips, will go on sale January 23, 2003.

The N2051 boasts the longest battery life of any FOMA model, providing approximately 180 hours of continuous dynamic stand-by, or about 250 hours of static stand-by.

In addition, the N2051 is compatible with the new i-motion(TM) mail service, which enables users to e-mail approximately 15-second/100 KB video clips taken either with the handset's built-in dual cameras or downloaded from i-mode(R) sites. The phone shoots video content at a rate of up to 15 frames/second.

Equipped with a 2.21-inch 65,536 TFD color monitor, the N2051 has a 310,000-pixel CMOS camera located on the backside of the phone and a second 100,000-pixel camera on the inner main display.

The N2051 is also the first mobile phone to feature a Neuropointer trackball, providing users with full 360-degree control of the screen cursor.
