Monday, 11 August 2008

A year after introducing the UMTS technology in its network and after covering coastal municipalities Podgorica, Nikšić and Cetinje, the Promonte Company has introduced the 3G signal in territories of the six municipalities on the North of Montenegro i.e. in Berane, Bijelo Polje, Rožaje, Plav, Pljevlja and Žabljak municipalities. This autumn, the 3G basic stations will be installed in Kolašin, Mojkovac and Danilovgrad. In the next four years it is planned to cover 97% of the inhabited territory in Montenegro with the 3G signal.

For the reminding sake, the UMTS technology ensures the usage of a great number of services for the Promonte users: video calls, watching TV programmes, music videos and movies, a much faster internet, monitoring the main traffic roads and many other multimedia contents.

Simultaneously with the UMTS technology introduction, covering the whole territory with the 3G signal, the Promonte ensures a great speed of data transmission from the network to the user through the HSDPA technology. The transmission speed amounts to 3.6Mb/s.

As in last 12 years, in the forthcoming period the Promonte Company will also make it possible for its network’s users to use the most modern technologies and that way enable them to communicate wherever they are, in any time, with a good quality and under reasonable prices.
