|Samsung Tocco Takes Touch to a New Level|
Samsung Mobile, one of the world's leading mobile phone and telecommunications equipment and technology companies, today marks the launch of its latest handset - the Samsung Tocco - with a "Please Touch" exhibition at the Azam Gallery, County Hall, London.
The Samsung Tocco marks an innovative step in touch screen technology, with a new and totally unique UI that provides the simplicity of a full touch screen, and allows you to customise and personalise the way you use your phone. Tactile technology unites with innovative design, as it boasts a refined brushed metal finish and comes with a premium leather case for protection on the move.
The handset, whose name is inspired by the Italian word for touch, houses a five megapixel camera, 240x320 2.8" 262K display and a full internet browser. The user can also enjoy an enhanced music experience with easy access to music sources and a full music recognition function, as well as 240 MB of internal music memory, a memory card with up to 8GB storage and an integrated FM radio.
The intuitive ‘drag and drop' feature means customers have instant access to their favourite functions through a unique menu of ‘widgets', including features such as a radio player, music player and more personal elements such as birthday reminders, which users can ‘drag and drop' onto their start screens to suit their personal tastes.
Mark Mitchinson, Vice President, Samsung Mobile UK and Ireland said: "We are immensely proud of the Samsung Tocco which provides an industry-leading touch functionality to provide consumers with a more personal experience.
He continued, "It's a hugely significant addition to our growing portfolio of touch screen models and further enhances our position as a leading player in the hugely popular touch screen mobile phone market."
"As with the extremely popular Samsung G600, we, in the UK, took the lead in the creative aspects of this inspirational phone, such as the advertising and naming of the phone, to effectively target the UK market."
The phone also offers high-end camera features which are better known on digital SLR cameras, such as automatic face detection technology and a sophisticated image stabiliser.
Despite its credit card size and ultra slim11.6mm body, the Samsung Tocco includes HSDPA 7.2Mbps data communications to allow swift web browsing on the move, as well as a 2.8" QVGA LCD screen, image stabiliser and touch interface give superb image quality and user experience, while the award-winning Croix UI operating system ensures easy, intuitive use.
The launch of Samsung Tocco will be supported by an extensive advertising campaign in the UK totalling £3.5million, driving high visibility across print, TV, online and out of home.
