|Tuesday, 15 April 2008|
Starting today, Vodafone is giving away a free ticket to Rock in Rio Lisbon 2008 to all customers who buy the new exclusive Nokia 5610 Xpress Music on or before 30 April. This 3G phone is Vodafone's latest foray into the music world. Thanks to its dedicated audio chip, it offers crystal clear sound and a music playtime of up to 22 hours. The recommended retail price is 249.90 euros, and tickets to the festival are distributed according to customers' preferences and availability.
During this week, Vodafone is giving away a further 50 tickets to Rock in Rio Lisbon 2008 via its mobile portal. To win tickets, customers simply need to access the Rock in Rio channel of the Vodafone live! Portal during one of the Happy Hours shown below, identify correctly the name of the artist who will be performing on the World Stage on that day of the festival and download a ringtone of their choice. Tickets will be attributed by order of participation. The competition will take place at the following times:
14 April: Between 6 pm and 8 pm
These initiatives are part of a range of actions designed by Vodafone to promote in an innovative way its connection with Rock in Rio Lisbon, the biggest music event in Portugal in 2008. At the beginning of March, it set up three gigantic Vodafone Guitars in Lisbon (2ª Circular and Praça de Espanha) and Porto (Praça do Molhe - Av. Montevideu), showing the countdown to the festival’s opening and giving information about the event and how to win the tickets offered by the brand. In March and April, Vodafone gave away 500 tickets to Rock in Rio Lisbon 2008 to the winners of the Vodafone Live & Go! duels held at various Metro stations in Lisbon and Porto and at prominent sites in a number of cities in Portugal (Aveiro, Braga, Coimbra, Covilhã, Évora and Santarém). Last Saturday, 12 April, it organised a Flash Dance with the DJ Vibe in Porto, at which it distributed gifts and tickets to the festival to some of the many hundreds of participants.
Vodafone is the official sponsor of Rock in Rio 2008, continuing its association with the biggest music events in Portugal such as Rock in Rio Lisbon in 2004 and 2006 and the MTV Europe Music Awards Lisbon in 2005.
