Huawei Launches a 3G-based MMS Solution

Huawei Technologies, today announced that the company has made a successful demonstration of 3G MMS (Multimedia Messaging Services) on its trial network of WCDMA in April in Shanghai.

The trial on the demonstration site showcased that an interconnectivity call completed between WCDMA commercial handset and GSM handset supporting MMS. Leveraging its mobile data expertise and research strength, Huawei has rolled out this revenue-generating MMS service, which gives a significant boost to message delivery of "person-to-person", "person-to-application" and "application-to- person" enabling customers to send color pictures, cartoon strips, audio and video trailers to one another.

Huawei-released MMS solutions cover Multimedia Messaging Service Center, Multimedia terminal gateway supporting non-MMS handsets, WAP gateways and terminal servers. Moreover, Huawei provides tailor-made solutions and its system installation, integration and customer service accordingly.

As early as last year Huawei has launched its GPRS-based MMS into commercial use for China Mobile, China's largest mobile player, now Huawei has brought this cutting-edge into 3G.
