Omnitele Ltd. assists Síminn in ensuring successful launch of UMTS/HSDPA service PDF Print E-mail

Omnitele Ltd. has been contracted by the leading provider of wireless communications services in Iceland to assist in preparing guidelines for UMTS/HSDPA radio planning.

Síminn, Iceland, is operating in a market with one of the highest penetration rates for both internet and mobile and with a high rate of responsiveness towards innovation. Síminn provides mobile and internet services to private and corporate clients and has also a leading role in developing and deploying value-added services. The GSM network reaches over 98 percent of the total population and the total market share of Síminn is 65 percent.

Omnitele has assisted Síminn to achieve a high-quality and cost-efficient UMTS network and to ensure that existing GSM subscribers will experience a continued high quality of service.
