Thursday, 09 March 2006

Vodafone is exclusively showcasing the prototype of the new UMTS broadband phone, the Samsung SGH-ZV50, at CeBIT 2006. Demonstrations will be taking place in the Vodafone Pavillion's Future Zone.

In terms of external appearance, the Samsung SGH-ZV50 clamshell phone is very similar to the other UMTS models in the market, except that it has UMTS broadband inside for high-speed data transfer. In other words, this mobile phone incorporates cutting-edge technology, because this new Samsung data phone supports with its data transfers an enhanced multimedia experience. It can be used to listen to music, watch MobileTV, play games and surf the Internet.

The UMTS broadband phone has a 2 megapixel camera, external keys for the music player, an internal memory of up to 35 MB and a microSD slot for external memory extension. A large 2-inch QVGA display with 262,000 colours guarantees brilliantly sharp images.

The mobile phone Samsung SGH-ZV50 is due to go on sale in the second quarter of 2006 by Vodafone exclusively. Its price will be announced in conjunction with the market launch.
