VITELCOM Launches UMTS i-mode Handsets in European Market PDF Print E-mail

QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leading developer and innovator of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and other advanced wireless technologies, and leading European manufacturer Vitelcom, today announced that the i-mode G600i mobile handset is commercially available in Spain from network operator Telefnica Mviles. The handset is based on QUALCOMM's Mobile Station ModemTM (MSMTM) MSM6250TM, which supports WCDMA (UMTS), GPRS and GSM standards and is helping to drive the deployment of 3G technologies in Europe and around the world.

The G600i handset features the MSM6250 chipset, which is part of QUALCOMM's Multimedia Platform of single-chip solutions that deliver engaging multimedia devices and applications.
