Ericsson upgrades 3 Scandinavia's HSPA services to 7.2MBPS downlink
Ericsson has upgraded 3's network with enhanced mobile broadband services with downlink speeds up to 7.2Mbps and uplink speeds of 1.4Mbps. The "turbocharged" network is live in major Swedish cities from today.
Orange Awards Huawei UMTS/HSPA Contract in Poland
Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, announced that it has been awarded a UMTS /HSPA contract by PTK Centertel, Orange Poland. This contract reaffirms Huawei's position as a significant 3G supplier to PTK Centertel, with a 50 percent share of the operator's UTRAN (UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network).
Vodafone launches first Mobile Broadband terminal with HSUPA technology
Vodafone has launched a new version of its Vodafone Mobile Connect Card with upload speeds of up to 1.4 Mbps, four times faster than the upload speeds currently available on mobile networks. This launch makes Vodafone the first Portuguese operator to offer its customers terminals that support HSUPA (High Speed Uplink Packet Access) technology, a natural evolution of the 3G Mobile Broadband network.
Ericsson pioneers WCDMA/HSPA ecosystem pilot in rural India
Ericsson has launched the Gramjyoti Rural Broadband Project, an initiative to introduce benefits of WCDMA/HSPA technology in rural India and connect communities to high-speed internet services for the first time. The trial project was launched in early September and will showcase the benefits of mobile broadband applications across 18 villages and 15 towns close to Chennai, in the state of Tamil Nadu.
