Despite its compactness and low weight, the fourth Vodafone live! UMTS phone from Samsung - the new Samsung Z140V - is a genuine top performer. The black and silver clamshell phone weighs in at just over 100 grams. Nevertheless, the large display delivers excellent resolution with 176x220 pixels and 262,144 TFT colours, which enables top-quality mobile TV viewing. The integrated digital camera has a digital zoom with a 2-speed function and is perfect for both snapshots and video recordings. To receive videotelephony images, it is simply rotated. And it has a blockbuster price. This multitalented UMTS phone only costs EUR 9.901 in conjunction with the UMTS Per-Minute Package Plus 200 and 500 tariffs.

Vodafone has launched the second Samsung UMTS model in response to customer demand for convenient UMTS phones, and it is the perfect addition to the 'small, lightweight and attractive' line. The new Z140V measures only 8.8 x 4.8 x 2.6 centimetres and, weighing in at only 105 grams, it is a genuine 'bantamweight' UMTS phone. It also has a very attractive design with a classic shape and a black and silver look that makes it an eye-catching clamshell phone.

One aspect that makes the Samsung Z140V attractive for many customers is the practically unbeatable combination of functional scope and price. The Samsung phone makes all UMTS-based services such as videotelephony6, mobile TV3 and playing back videoclips from the Vodafone live! portal a genuine pleasure. The phone's large display with 262,144 TFT colours ensures the perfect rendition of moving images and games. It is also ideal for users who enjoy taking their own snapshots or videos because the standard features include an integrated VGA digicam (640x480 pixels) that has an optical zoom with a 2-speed function. The UMTS phone has approximately 50 MB of internal dynamic memory for the storage of image files, ring tones and games.

Samsung Z140V: the perfect UMTS phone for mobile individuals
The Samsung Z140V is the ideal phone for people who are often on the move. The Vodafone live! portal provides instant access at all times and from any location to news and information in word and image format via the Vodafone network. UMTS videotelephony offers a diverse range of utilisation options for private and business customers. It transfers an image of the person at the other end of the line or provides an impression of the caller's surroundings. The Samsung Z140V transmits images via live streaming in first-rate quality to any videotelephony-capable receiving phone. It is a tri-band phone, which means it can be used in many countries for making calls, sending MMS messages or e-mails. The lithium ion battery (900 mAh) enables stand-by times of up to 400 hours and talktime of over 4 hours. The Samsung Z140V has all the standard data transfer interfaces: infrared, USB and, more importantly, bluetooth, which enables communication between different devices via the same standard.

The Samsung Z140V is now available from the Vodafone shops or via the Internet. In conjunction with a term contract and the UMTS Per-Minute Package Plus* 200 or 500 tariffs, the phone only costs EUR 9.90, or EUR 49.90 coupled with the UMTS Per-Minute Package Plus 1001. Without a contract, it costs EUR 449.50.

The Vodafone UMTS Per Minute Package Plus tariffs comprise the following all-inclusive services: unlimited access to the Vodafone live! portal2 and the Mobile TV service3, unlimited calls during the evenings and at weekends1, Internet access4, MobileMail5 and video calls for the same price as voice calls6.
