Vodafone K.K. Unveils 903T and 803T 3G Handsets PDF Print E-mail

Vodafone K.K. today announces that from early October 2005 it will offer the Vodafone 903T 3G handset by Toshiba, the world's first*1 mobile handset capable of network-assisted*2 GPS navigation both in Japan and abroad. From mid-October it will also market the Vodafone 803T all-in-one music player 3G handset by Toshiba, which features easy access to music files and background play when using mail or the web.

The main features of the handsets are as follows:

Vodafone 903T
- World first: supports 'Vodafone live! NAVI' for network-assisted GPS navigation both in Japan
and on roaming networks
- 2.4-inch QVGA (240 x 320 pixel) LCD for easy map viewing
- Auto focus 1.92 megapixel mobile camera

Vodafone 803T
- External Music Console for easy music listening while the handset is folded and background
play when using mail or the web
- Enriched functions: 2.26 megapixel mobile camera, stereo twin speakers, and Bluetooth

*1: As of 7 September 2005, among mobile handsets that used network-assisted GPS navigation services (according to Vodafone K.K.).
*2: A technology that accelerates positioning times and expands areas by using location information (assist data) via the network to improve GPS-only positioning drawbacks such as areas not available for positioning, or positioning timing delays.
