As of today Vodafone customers can download full music tracks in digital sound quality and with UMTS speed on their Vodafone live! UMTS mobile phone where and whenever they want. Once the music track has been downloaded, the customer can enjoy listening to it as often as he likes. With these so-called MusicDownloads Vodafone is the first Dutch mobile operator to offer its customers the possibility to use the mobile phone as MP3 player. Vodafone customers can choose their favourite music tracks from a music catalogue of no fewer than 500,000 tracks.

The new service MusicDownloads is a next step in the ever increasing offer of fast and high quality UMTS services through Vodafone live!. Up till now Vodafone customers could already choose from a wide range of many thousands of ringtones and Welcometunes. The introduction of MusicDownloads reaffirms Vodafone's no. 1 position in UMTS with the widest range of handsets, best coverage and most extensive content against the most attractive tariffs: until 1 July 2005 Vodafone customers can download the first 5 tracks for free.

Music catalogue of 500,000 tracks
The extensive music offer, ranging from pop to classical music, has been compiled by the major music distributors like Sony BMG, Warner Music and EMI, as well as many individual artists. Vodafone has developed an advanced search engine which enables simple and due to UMTS fast downloads of tracks from this catalogue.

With Vodafone live! UMTS customers enjoy full music tracks on their mobile, live TV, video telephony and video clips, and also a wide range of services like voice, SMS, MMS, E-mail, Ringtones, Welcome Tunes, Games and live! sites.
