Vodafone First to Offer UMTS Roaming in 10 Countries |

As of today, Vodafone customers who make use of the UMTS data card for the laptop or use Vodafone live! UMTS, can also use these services in 10 other countries across Europe and Asia. Vodafone is the first operator in the Netherlands to offer its customers the opportunity to use their UMTS services also when they are abroad. With the same speed and easiness as in the Netherlands.
As of today, Vodafone customers can also use UMTS services in Spain, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, Portugal, Sweden, Greece, Japan, Belgium (Proximus) and France (SFR). In these countries Vodafone customers make use of the Vodafone UMTS networks and the UMTS networks of Vodafone's partners.
Most countries When there is no UMTS coverage, the Vodafone network automatically switches to GPRS, enabling Vodafone customers to use services such as Vodafone live!, the Blackberry and the plug-in card for the laptop in almost 50 countries with GPRS coverage in Europe, Asia and America. In addition, Vodafone customers can make mobile calls, and send and receive text messages on GSM networks in 181 countries worldwide. This means that Vodafone is the leading mobile operator in the Netherlands in offering its customers mobile services on GSM, GPRS and UMTS networks in the largest number of countries in the world. This unique offering is a direct benefit of the intensive international cooperation between the 26 Vodafone companies and 13 partner networks throughout the world.
