Cricket enters a new era this week when, for the first time, fans will be able to watch video highlights from England Tests and One Day Internationals on video mobile phones with 3.
Launched ahead of England's first test against the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, the service from video mobile network '3' will allow those fans who aren't able to join the Barmy Army the chance to not only keep up-to-date with events, but watch them unfold.
Cricket fans who sign up to 3's West Indies tour service will receive free score updates plus the option to download video clips featuring exclusive video mobile highlights from each session.
3's Marketing Director Graeme Oxby, said: "As a sport, cricket has always taken advantage of new advances in technology, from the third umpire through to the stump cam. So it's only fitting that we are now able to offer cricket fans the benefit of new advances in mobile technology. Through this service we plan to bring our customers closer to the action and for many fans, stuck with the miserable wet weather, a bit closer to the West Indian sunshine."
The video clips cost 50p, with each clip approximately two minutes long.
West Indies Tour footage is the latest addition to 3's ground-breaking mobile sports portfolio, which includes video highlights from the Barclaycard Premiership and UEFA Champion's League and a wide-ranging sports video news service. |
