3 today announced the arrival of the Motorola A925, one of the world's most advanced video and PDA inclusive mobile handsets.
Complemented by new industry-leading multimedia business and consumer services, the Motorola A925 is being exclusively released into 3 operations around the globe and will be launched in other countries with 3 networks soon.
It provides a host of functionality to users and includes wide screen viewing of video clips and super bright backlit screen for outstanding clarity. The A925's Symbian operating system is open, allowing customers to install 3rd party software for additional tailored functionality.
In Australia, the A925 is being released with new video based information services for investors, business customers and others interested in finance -- and with 3's highly popular new $99 Talk Cap. The Talk Cap, part of the "Hot for 3" pricing plan, allows 3 customers to make up to $500 worth of national voice calls each month and pay only $99 per month.
"The Motorola A925 is the first in a series of advanced 3G handsets that will be released by 3 in 2004," said Peter Burr, 3's General Manager, Marketing. "The A925 follows the Motorola A920 as 3's premier business mobile and it also features videocalling and the full range of 3's sport and entertainment services," he said.
The A925 combines a number of business and communication tools in one compact, easy-to-use device. Customers can sync the handset to MS Outlook or Lotus Notes and Organiser using their existing computer or laptop, to exchange emails, calendar appointments and address book details. As well they can take advantage of 3 video news, finance, sport and entertainment, including comedy, games and -- soon -- interactive multiplayer games.
Sporting a sleek, black and brushed chrome look, the A925 is easy to navigate with new control keys and the option of touch screen or stylus operation, including handwriting recognition. Operating on a Symbian platform, the A925's main features include a fully functional PDA, 65,536 colour touch screen, expandable memory of up to 128Mb, speakerphone, email client, built-in still and video camera and bluetooth for wireless talk and connectivity.
The new finance product includes a suite of services for ASX-listed stocks, including near live quotes, performance charts and a list of the Top 10 movers. 3 customers can also track the Aussie dollar and the All Ordinaries against other global currencies and indices. All stock data is provided for 3 by Reuters, in association with the ASX.
"With appealing pricing and innovative product offerings, 3 is the most compelling offer in the Australian market," Mr Burr said. "Now's the perfect time for the upwardly mobile user to join 3."
3 also provides video finance reporting on trading days, including a morning close of trade Wall Street report, a midday ASX report and the Australian Financial Review Market Wrap, after close of the Australian market.
3's interactive Finance WatchFolio allows customers to track the current market value of up to 10 ASX-listed stocks. By entering the buy price details, customers can see how much notional profit (or loss!) they have made on their portfolio. |
