UbiNetics signs 10th customer for 3G multimode protocol stack

UbiNetics, a world leader in 3G Terminal and Test & Measurement technology, has announced the licensing of its 3G Multimode Protocol Stack Software to its 10th Customer.

The UbiNetics Multimode Protocol Stack is based on a scalable architecture and supports the GSM, GPRS, EDGE and WCDMA cellular protocols essential for a true Multimode 3G phone. Customers include both terminal manufacturers and 3G chip suppliers wishing to offer an integrated solution to their customers.

"The Protocol Stack is a key component of any 3G phone and has a crucial influence on terminal-network interoperability", said Dr. Jeffery Torrance, Senior Vice President at UbiNetics. "UbiNetics' long involvement with testing real 3G infrastructure and live networks with Test Mobiles gives the UbiNetics stack real credibility in this space - and our experience on HSDPA will allow us to maintain our leading position."

UbiNetics' Multimode Protocol Stack is designed for easy integration with a range of GSM, GPRS, EDGE & 3G wireless handset platforms. UbiNetics have long experience of working with blue-chip silicon partners, with engagements on RF and baseband chipset designs, and high-volume reference designs for GSM and GPRS handsets. UbiNetics' 2G, 2.5G and 3G solutions already appear inside mass-production wireless devices, from $60 low-end phones to high-end $300 phones in China and Europe.
