Telekom Slovenije has announced that its mobile subsidiary, Mobitel, is to roll out an LTE network across all major cities in Slovenia over the next few months. The upgrade will start at the end of November, with the investment for 2012 estimated at EUR2.5 million (US$3.2 million). The network modernisation and LTE implementation project is in response to growing demand for mobile data services and faster transfer speeds.

Pursuant to the provisions of the Rules of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange and the legislation, Telekom Slovenije, d. d., hereby publishes the following notification:

Telekom Slovenije will offer the latest, significantly faster mobile broadband data services, based on the latest LTE technology in its Mobitel network. In a few months all the major cities in Slovenia will have coverage. Ericsson was selected to supply network modernization and LTE.

To respond to the increased use of mobile data services and market demands for even greater transfer speeds, Telekom Slovenije is launching the project of network modernization and LTE technology implementation that will be the basis for providing users with the next generation services. Telekom Slovenije has selected Ericsson to provide the equipment.

The new network will use the latest environment friendly solutions that require less energy and consequently produce lower carbon emissions, run cooler and require less air conditioning, have a smaller footprint and fewer components. They also require fewer site visits.

Telekom Slovenije will provide services in a better and more cost effective way, while the users will benefit from better data transfer speeds, enabling more advanced multimedia services for a greater number of users.

The gradual implementation will commence at Telekom Slovenije at the end of November this year, with the investment for this year estimated at €2.5 million. In a few months all of the major cities in Slovenia will have LTE coverage. Telekom Slovenije carries on the tradition of the technologically most advanced operator in Slovenia providing the fastest and most reliable services.

The notification is also published at the company website www.telekom.si for the period of at least five years following the announcement.
