Following the highly successful launch of its Mubashir (3G) service, Etisalat is running a three-month campaign with Motorola to further highlight the many exciting features of this state-of-the-art technology.
As an all-in-one package, Mubashir offers Video Calling, High-speed mobile Internet access and Multi-Media Messaging services.
During the promotion period, which runs from 1st May to 31st July 2004, unlimited free video calls will be offered to all existing Mubashir subscribers. New subscribers during this period will automatically receive the same free service. Motorola, meanwhile, is offering its A835 3G-enabled mobile handset at the very special price of AED2,999 to Mubashir subscribers. This compares to a an average market price of around AED4,000.
"Etisalat has launched this campaign to ensure that our customers have access to the best services at the lowest prices," says Mohammed Al Fahim, Executive Vice President Marketing - Etisalat. "3G handsets are relatively costly, but as a result of this joint promotion with Motorola, experiencing 3G is now more affordable than ever."
While video calls are free, Etisalat points out that the voice element will charged at the standard rate (AED 0.24 per min - peak, AED 0.18 per min - off peak), and high speed internet access charged at 1 Fils per KB of data transferred. After the promotion, video calls will be charged at the regular rate of AED 0.75 per min. The handsets can be obtained from any authorised Motorola dealer or from Etisalat Wasel retailers.
"Third generation mobile technology is as much about the service as it is about the phone delivering the service," said Patrick Mulligan, General Manager of Motorola's Personal Communications Sector for the Middle East and North Africa. "Our partnership with Etisalat will undoubtedly deliver the most comprehensive and reliable services to Mubashir subscribers."
"When launched at the end of 2003, the Mubashir brand signalled the live connectivity, speed and simplicity of this next generation service, which is among the first in the world being offered to both pre-paid and post-paid mobile customers," adds Mohammed Al Fahim. |
