|Celcom Customers to Enjoy Faster Speeds and Improve Communication Services in Klang Valley|
Celcom has selected Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) to expand and modernize its 3G network in the central region of Malaysia. Under the contract, NSN will upgrade Celcom’s infrastructure with Dual Carrier HSPA+ technology in Klang Valley, one of Celcom’s most important markets. The vendor will deliver its LTE-ready radio access equipment Flexi Multiradio Base Stations and upgrade the operator’s network management system. The new network will support peak downlink speeds of up to 42 Mbps.
Celcom Axiata Berhad, the country’s first and foremost mobile telecommunications provider, has awarded a contract to Nokia Siemens Networks to boost its network as part of its ongoing network expansion and upgrade in Klang Valley. Under the contract, Nokia Siemens Networks will provide HSPA+ at up to 42 Mbps to cater to the explosive smartphone growth in Malaysia. The upgrade will enable Celcom customers to benefit from faster data download speeds and better coverage in metropolitan areas.

Under the contract, Nokia Siemens Networks will deliver LTE-ready radio access equipment Flexi Multiradio Base Stations to deliver HSPA+ services and upgrade its network management system, NetAct for Celcom’s current and future needs.
