T-Mobile USA has upgraded its HSPA+ network with Dual Carrier technology in 42 additional markets. T-Mobile USA now offers enhanced HSPA+ services in 97 markets nationwide, offering peak downlink speeds of up to 42 Mbps. The operator expects more than 150 million Americans to have access to the increased speeds by mid-2011; its HSPA+ network currently covers more than 200 million Americans in 184 markets.

Average download speeds have approached 10 Mbps, with peak speeds at 27 Mbps achieved with the T-Mobile Rocket 3.0 laptop stick, the company’s first 42 Mbps device.

Today, T-Mobile is doubling the speed of its 4G network in 42 additional markets including Albuquerque, N.M.; Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio; Sacramento and San Diego, Calif.; Salt Lake City, Utah and San Antonio, Texas. Now, customers in 97 markets across the country have access to T-Mobile’s HSPA+ 42 network, enabling the fastest 4G speeds it has to offer, as well as increased network capacity and reliability.

T-Mobile has seen average download speeds approaching 10Mbps with peak speeds of 27Mbps on the T-Mobile Rocket 3.0 laptop stick—the company’s first 42Mbps device. T-Mobile expects more than 150 million American’s to have access to these increased 4G speeds by mid-2011.

Customers can choose from more than a dozen 4G devices, including:

• 4G Laptop Sticks: the T-Mobile Rocket® 3.0, T-Mobile’s first HSPA+ 42-capable device, the Rocket™ 2.0, T-Mobile’s first HSPA+ 21-capable device, the T-Mobile Jet® 2.0 and the prepaid T-Mobile Rocket 4G.
