T-Mobile USA has launched HSPA+ Dual Carrier technology in Las Vegas,
New York and Orlando, enabling peak download speeds of up to 42 Mbps,
with Chicago, Long Island and Northern New Jersey to be
covered next. The operator expects to provide increased HSPA+ speeds
to 140 million Americans in 25 markets by the middle of 2011.
Today at the International CTIA Wireless 2011, T-Mobile USA, Inc.
announced the expansion of its broad selection of consumer-ready 4G
products, including the T-Mobile® G2x with Google™
which is built for speed and mobile entertainment. T-Mobile also
announced the first major markets where it is doubling the speed of its
4G network to achieve a theoretical download speed of 42
Mbps. T-Mobile customers in Las Vegas, New York and Orlando, Fla.,
will be the first in the country to experience the increased 4G speed,
followed closely by Chicago and further
expansion of the New York network into Long Island, N.Y., and Northern
New Jersey. By mid-year, T-Mobile expects 140 million Americans in 25
markets to have access to increased 4G speeds.
“As T-Mobile continues the aggressive expansion of America’s Largest
4G Network, we’re doubling our maximum speed in more than two dozen
markets, starting with three important
cities today,” said Neville Ray, chief technology officer, T-Mobile
USA. "We will continue to build on our 4G network advantage this year,
providing customers with an industry-leading mobile
data experience.”
As T-Mobile’s 4G network continues to expand and get faster, the
company’s portfolio of 4G products is also growing. T-Mobile has
announced plans to deliver 25 4G-capabile devices
this year and this spring will introduce seven new 4G-capable devices
spanning smartphones, tablets and mobile broadband products that will
benefit from America’s Largest 4G Network™.
T-Mobile’s 4G devices allow customers to video chat, surf the Web,
download and stream high-definition (HD) and 3D video, and use their
favorite applications as new 4G-enabled products with
these capabilities come to market.

for fast 4G mobile broadband connections,”

Industry-Leading 4G Smartphone Lineup
Adding to T-Mobile’s industry-leading lineup of 4G smartphones,
including the new Galaxy S™ 4G and upcoming T-Mobile Sidekick® 4G™,
T-Mobile today introduced the T-Mobile G2x
with Google. The latest 4G smartphone to join T-Mobile’s innovative
G-series devices, the G2x is powered by a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core
processor, brilliant 4-inch capacitive touch screen
display and preloaded video games, such as Need For Speed SHIFT HD.
Manufactured by LG Mobile Phones, the G2x is powered by Android™ 2.2 and
comes equipped with an 8-megapixel rear-facing
camera with LED flash and autofocus and a front-facing camera paired
with T-Mobile Video Chat powered by Qik™ for staying in touch with
family and friends.
New 4G Mobile Hotspot and Mobile Broadband Laptop Stick Lineup
T-Mobile is expanding its 4G mobile broadband products across a
variety of device categories with the new T-Mobile 4G Mobile Hotspot,
enabling customers to extend the power of America’s
Largest 4G Network to any Wi-Fi-capable device from virtually
anywhere. T-Mobile 4G Mobile Hotspot gives customers the ability to
connect up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices to T-Mobile’s 4G
network, including music players, tablets, laptops, cameras and
e-readers, among others. Manufactured by ZTE Corp., the sleek, compact
21 Mbps-capable device, which resembles a clamshell cell
phone, weighs only 2.64 ounces and fits in the palm of your hand.
T-Mobile will offer its customers an all-4G laptop stick lineup from
prepaid to premium devices. Available later this spring, the T-Mobile
Rocket™ 3.0 will be the first 42 Mbps capable 4G
product able to take full advantage of T-Mobile’s new 42 Mbps service.
Manufactured by ZTE, the Rocket 3.0 will be capable of speeds twice as
fast as 21 Mbps devices which customers should
notice when creating and sharing mobile content, streaming and
connecting through mobile video and participating in multi-player
gaming.
T-Mobile also plans to deliver two additional 4G laptop sticks capable
of delivering peak download speeds of 21 Mbps, including the T-Mobile
Jet 2.0 and the prepaid T-Mobile Rocket 4G.
Growing 4G Tablet Portfolio
T-Mobile is also readying its second 4G tablet, the T-Mobile® G-Slate™
with Google™ by LG. Powered by Android 3.0 (Honeycomb), the G-Slate
delivers a premium mobile entertainment
experience with a brilliant HD 8.9-inch 3D-capable multi-touch display
and the ability to record 3D and full HD video. With the new G-Slate,
customers can access their favorite TV shows, magazines,
games and more with the following pre-installed applications:
• T-Mobile TV - offers live and on-demand TV including news, sports
and full-length entertainment, plus on-demand full episodes of your
favorite shows.
• Need for Speed SHIFT HD - developed by Electronic Arts, Inc. (EA),
Need for Speed SHIFT HD is an award-winning authentic racing game that
combines the true driver’s experience
with real-world physics, pixel-perfect car models, and a wide range of
authentic race tracks. Fully loaded on the G-Slate, the popular racing
game is brought to life on the tablet with crisp

Availability:
T-Mobile plans to offer its expanding selection of 4G products
including the T-Mobile G2x, T-Mobile G-Slate, T-Mobile Sidekick 4G,
Rocket 3.0, T-Mobile 4G Mobile Hotspot, and prepaid Rocket 4G,
later this spring. The T-Mobile Jet 2.0 is anticipated to be
available on March 23.
