Alcatel's UMTS live TV and MP3 downloading solution showcased at PT/Wireless Comm Exhibition in Beijing |

Alcatel announced today that it is showcasing live TV, MP3 downloading and other 3G applications, based on its state-of-the-art UMTS communication technology, during the PT/Wireless & Networks Comm exhibition which is being held in Beijing, China, from 12 to 16 November.
Visitors will be able to watch live Chinese and foreign TV news, commentary and interviews and enjoy MP3/Java downloading as well as video telephony through 3G/UMTS mobile terminals. Visitors will also be able to access other 3G applications on-site including web surfing, video on demand, online gaming and net meeting solutions.
"Alcatel's industry-leading 3G applications, on display at the PT/Wireless Comm Exhibition offer visitors the chance to fully experience the advanced capabilities of live 3G, an important step towards the deployment of 3G in China." declared Olivia Qiu, Vice President of Alcatel Shanghai Bell's 3G group. "By demonstrating Alcatel's innovative capabilities in a live demonstration, we are confirming that Alcatel's UMTS solution is ready for the Chinese mobile market."
All the 3G applications in Alcatel's exhibit runs on Alcatel's advanced UMTS Evolium infrastructure solution. The on-site Node B is connected to the Alcatel 3G Reality Centre mobile applications platform located in Vlizy, France, via the Alcatel 3G Reality Centre in Shanghai. The packets data are transferred at speed up to 384 kbit/s. |
