capital of Manitoba, offering peak downlink speeds of up to 21 Mbps.
The Canadian operator plans to carry out a further upgrade in Winnipeg
to HSPA+ Dual Carriage technology, capable of delivering peak rates of
up to 42 Mbps. TELUS currently offers HSPA+ access to more than 60% of
the population in the region. Over the next two years TELUS will
expand its coverage to include other Manitoba cities.
TELUS today announced that Winnipeggers can now enjoy the latest and
greatest mobile devices running on its advanced 4G network, offering
manufacturers rated peak speeds of 21.1 Megabits per second (Mbps).
Further, in March TELUS will be the first to bring Winnipeg the most
advanced Dual Cell HSPA+ (DC-HSPA+) technology, giving customers even
faster manufacturer's rated wireless download speeds of up to 42
Mbps**.

class mobile devices to stay connected on-the-go, including iconic
smartphones such as the iPhone 4, BlackBerry Torch, HTC Desire HD, and
lightning-fast 4G Mobile Internet keys, all available at TELUS stores.

without system access and carrier 911 fees, and device unlocking for
TELUS SIM-based devices.
“TELUS is pleased to bring Winnipeggers more choice and flexibility
than ever before, combined with access to the latest and greatest
mobile devices on the planet and advanced 4G network speeds,” said
Brent Johnston, vice-president of Mobile Solutions at TELUS. “Our
commitment is to offer value, flexibility, simplicity and transparency
to our Winnipeg customers and we are excited about doing that on our
new blazing fast 4G network.”
TELUS' 4G network is a unique zoned service covering the City of
Winnipeg, offering more than 60 per cent of Manitobans access to the
most advanced wireless technology available. Over the next two years,
TELUS' nationwide coverage will expand to include even more Manitoba
cities.
TELUS' Dual Cell upgrade doubles the manufacturers rated speed of
HSPA+ from 21.1 Mbps to 42.2 Mbps. An industry-recognized 4G
technology, HSPA+ provides an interim step towards the deployment of
Long Term Evolution (LTE) wireless network technology. For more
