Mobile operator Orange has launched its own Orange-branded tablet in four markets: Spain, Romania, Poland and Slovakia. The entry-level device extends Orange's tablet portfolio and supports its multiple-price-point strategy. The device features a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, Android 2.1 operating system and 3G/EDGE connectivity.

Orange today announced the launch of its own Orange-branded tablet. The 7" Android device available in four markets - Spain, Poland, Slovakia and Romania - is lowering the entry level for tablet computing and broadening the company's portfolio of tablet devices.

With a seven inch capacitive screen, Android 2.1 and 3G/Edge connectivity, the Orange tablet offers portable, touch screen computing at a competitive price. It joins Apple's iPad and the Samsung Galaxy Tab in Orange's growing tablet portfolio.

Yves Maitre, senior vice president, Group Devices & Mobile Multimedia for Orange, said: "Tablet computing is an extremely popular and growing segment of the consumer technology market and we want to offer our customers the best possible choice of device to suit all budgets and requirements. By providing the widest choice of seven and ten inch touchscreen tablets, Orange is providing new ways to access the content and services our customers want. We will continue to expand our tablet and smartphone portfolio throughout 2011."

Each of the four markets has designed specific tariffs and bundles for the Orange Tablet.
