AIRCOM International has deployed an integrated wireless GSM/UMTS
and backhaul network planning software solution to Union Wireless, the
local US operator in Wyoming, North-West Colorado and Utah. AIRCOM’s
Asset product will allow Union Wireless to model new 3G sites prior to
live traffic deployment, enabling the operator to roll out an
efficient, optimised radio network using dual GSM and WCDMA technology.
AIRCOM’s CONNECT tool will provide Union Wireless with intelligent
backhaul, microwave and capacity planning across TDM, Ethernet IP and
hybrid networks to combat the bottlenecks that can arise from increased
data traffic.
Leading independent network planning and optimisation solutions
provider AIRCOM International has today announced it has delivered an
integrated RF (GSM / UMTS) and backhaul network planning software
solution to Union Wireless. Union Wireless, a telecoms operator in
Wyoming, North-western Colorado, and Utah, USA, will use AIRCOM tools
to ensure a smooth and cost effective transition to 3G technology.
AIRCOM’s ASSET product will allow Union Wireless to model new 3G sites
prior to live traffic deployment, enabling the operator to rollout an
efficient, optimised radio network using dual GSM and UMTS technology.
This will be supported by AIRCOM’s CONNECT tool. CONNECT will provide
Union Wireless with intelligent backhaul, microwave & capacity
planning across TDM, Ethernet IP and hybrid networks to combat the
bottlenecks that can arise from increased data traffic.
Uniquely, ASSET and CONNECT together offer a complete and single
overview of Union Wireless’ network, combining radio and backhaul
planning to enable full network management. In addition to software,
AIRCOM will also provide full support for data migration, and full
training for the use of its tools.
“AIRCOM International’s close integration of network planning and
optimisation tools provides us with complete design & management
capabilities which should directly translate into improved operational
efficiency as well as improved network performance. That is a very
compelling proposition,” said Eric Woody, Chief Technical Officer,
Union Wireless. “Using ASSET and CONNECT we are able to roll out 3G in
the most efficient and cost effective manner possible. With the added
planning capabilities of the tools, we can avoid slow data throughput,
coverage blackspots, and other potential network problems.”
“We’re delighted to have been chosen by Union Wireless to assist in
the roll out of its 3G network,” said Darryl Edwards, CEO, AIRCOM
International. “It’s more vital than ever that operators look to reduce
their operating costs while at the same improving customer experience.
We’re happy to help Union Wireless meet this challenge.”
