Poland’s telecoms market regulator UKE plans to auction both 2.6 GHz and 790-862 MHz frequency bands in a single auction. According to UKE, the 2.6 GHz band will be available immediately after the auction. Frequencies in the 790-862 MHz range, which is currently controlled by the military, will also be made public in the near future.

Using the experiences gained from the analysis of the possible ways of the spectrum earmark for advanced mobile electronic communications systems (eg, LTE) in other EU countries and in connection with the signals from the market, indicating the interest of entrepreneurs in obtaining the frequency of 2500-2570/2620-2690 MHz together with frequencies of 790-862 MHz, the President of UKE informs that she intends to dispose of these frequencies simultaneously (in one auction). Using the 2.6 GHz band will be possible immediately after the auction. However, the use of frequencies in the range 790-862 MHz will be possible according to the schedule, which shall be made public in the near future after the arrangements conducted with the Minister of National Defence.

The tender will begin immediately after the consultation of new drafts of tender documents and after required by the ITU Regulations agreements with Russia and Belarus.
