T-Mobile Germany has upgraded its Smart Traveller mobile data roaming offers. The four new options for smartphone users are Handy DayPass Europe for EUR4.95 per day, Handy 4-WeekPass Europe for EUR14.95 per four weeks, Handy DayPass T-Mobile USA for EUR9.95 per day and Handy DayPass Asia for EUR14.95 per day. The DayPass options include 5 MB and the 4-Weekpass option includes 10 MB of data usages. T-Mobile Germany has also launched three new data roaming packages for laptop users.

  • More than 60 per cent cost savings
  • One-day options available for the first time for surfing and mailing with iPhone, BlackBerry® smartphones and other cell phones in Europe, USA and Asia
  • Low-priced four-week option for Europe
  • New laptop option for low-priced data roaming in the USA

Whether you are "twittering" while on vacation in Croatia or request current production data via a mobile network from Hong Kong: the five new Smart Traveller options allow Deutsche Telekom customers to make great savings when accessing the Internet and corporate network from anywhere in the world. The costs for data roaming based on the free Smart Traveller option are now 60 to 80 per cent lower, thanks to the new offers for smartphones such as iPhone, BlackBerry or Android-based cell phones. The Laptop DayPass T-Mobile USA even allows customers to make savings of 95 per cent.

The new Smart Traveller offers will be available from June 3, 2010 for private and business customers. Together with the Smart Traveller options web'n'walk Roaming DayPass and web'n'walk Roaming DayPass Asia, these new options account for a clear and transparent portfolio: Smartphone as well as notebook users can now quickly find the offer that suits them best - regardless of whether they are traveling in Europe, the United States or Asia. Customers who surf on their cell phone can now for the first time choose between three, flexibly bookable 24-hour options. In addition to this, a four-week offer is also available for European countries.

The Smart Traveller portfolio now comprises a total of seven options:

For smartphones:

  • Handy DayPass Europe: EUR 4.95/day
  • Handy 4-WeekPass Europe: EUR 14.95/4 weeks
  • Handy DayPass T-Mobile USA: EUR 9.95/day
  • Handy DayPass Asia: EUR 14.95/day

For notebooks:

  • Laptop DayPass T-Mobile USA: EUR 24.95/day
  • web'n'walk Roaming DayPass (for Europe): EUR 14.95/day
  • web'n'walk Roaming DayPass Asia (business customers only): EUR 25.17 net/day

The Handy DayPass options for smartphone users come with an inclusive volume of 5 megabyte (MB) for wireless data transmission and are valid for the booked day from 0 to 24 hours (CET). The Handy 4-WeekPass Europe is inclusive of a volume of 10 MB available for a period of 28 days. The option expires automatically and can be booked again at any time. The Laptop DayPass T-Mobile USA offers customers, who use data rates or have a CombiCard Data, an inclusive volume of 50 megabyte.

The Europe options can only be used in 37 countries, the USA options apply only in the mobile network of T-Mobile USA. The Asia option is valid for China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Singapore and Russia in all networks. All options refer to wireless data transmission via UMTS/HSDPA and GPRS/EDGE. After the inclusive volume has been used up, the price is 34 cents or 79 cents, respectively (for the Handy DayPass Asia option) for each 100-KB data block or part thereof. It is possible to cancel a DayPass any day with effect from the following day.
