Vodafone Extends HSPA+ Mobile Broadband Services with Speeds of up to 21.6 Mbps to the Main Romanian Cities

Vodafone Romania has expanded the reach of its HSPA+ network beyond Bucharest, with the addition of 15 new localities. Peak downlink speeds of 21 Mbps enabled by HSPA+ technology are available to Vodafone customers with the Internet Nelimitat Profesional package, which includes 16 GB of initial traffic, at EUR26.99 (US$36) per month. The expansion of mobile broadband coverage continues to be a priority for the operator.

Vodafone Romania announces the expansion of the HSPA+ network, providing mobile broadband speeds of up to 21.6 Mbps for download and 5.7 Mbps for upload, in 15 new localities, in addition to Bucharest.

Vodafone Romania offers the most extensive coverage of the mobile broadband services at speeds of up to 21.6 Mbps, through HSPA+ technology, which now includes the areas with the highest demand in traffic from 16 Romanian cities and resorts: Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Brasov, Iasi, Constanta, Ploiesti, Sibiu, Arad, Baia-Mare, Pitesti, Oradea, Targu-Mures, Satu Mare, Mamaia and Bran.

Vodafone customers, both consumers and business users, can benefit from the highest mobile data speeds available in the market, with Internet Nelimitat Profesional package, including 16 GB initial traffic, at EUR 26.99 monthly tariff (VAT included). The additional traffic will not be charged, while the available speed will be 128 kbps for download and 64kbps for upload.

Vodafone has been the first operator to launch commercially HSPA+ services in Romania, in September 2009, initially in the main business centers, residential areas and outdoor spaces in Bucharest.
