T-Mobile Czech Republic Launches Trial Operation of the 3G Network
www.t-mobile.cz

T-Mobile has embarked on a commercial trial in the Czech Republic of its 3G HSPA network ahead of the official launch scheduled for January 2010. The new network is based on HSPA technology, with equipment supplied by Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN). During the trial stage, download and upload speeds will reach 3 Mbps and 1.5 Mbps respectively. Initially, the 3G HSPA network will be available in Prague and will be expanded to reach the largest Czech cities by the end of 2010.

The roll-out of the 3G network is entering the final stage as T-Mobile launches the friendly user trial today at 3:00 p.m. All T-Mobile customers who are interested in testing the advantages of the new technology need only to register and have a 3G enabled handset. The 3G network should be put into commercial operation in January next year.

Beginning today, T-Mobile offers one of the most advanced versions of the 3G network currently available. It is based on the HSPA technology supplied by Nokia Siemens Networks, which allows high-speed mobile data transfers. Customers can look forward to fast downloading of web pages, pictures and large e mail attachments, videos streaming and much more.

The 3G network will be available in selected locations in Prague (for coverage map, click here) and will be put into commercial operation in January 2010. During the trial stage, download and upload speeds will reach 3 Mbps and 1.5 Mbps respectively.

T-Mobile customers can also participate in the trial operation - all they need to do is register by sending a free text message with 3G A to 4902. A similar procedure applies to deregistration - a text message with 3G D should be sent to 4902. Naturally, customers wishing to test the convenience of the high-speed mobile internet service must have a 3G enabled handset or data device. If they do not have such a device, they can turn to any T Mobile shop, as 80% of all mobile phones on offer support the 3G technology.

Then everyone can try out the advantages of 3G services - while it now takes almost 25 seconds to download a 500 kB file in the Internet Explorer 7 browser using the EDGE technology, with the 3G technology downloading will be five times faster. Data transfers will be billed to customers according to their standard tariff plans or within all data tariff plan add-ons (Surf+, Surf&Mail+, Internet+ and Twist Surf+) and data tariff plans (Internet Standard, Internet Premium, Twist Internet, M2M and M2M Profi).

Participants in the trial operation of the new network can communicate their observations and experience to the T Mobile Customer Centre by calling 4603 from T Mobile numbers.
Next year, the high-speed mobile internet experience will extend from Prague to other regional cities in the Czech Republic. Customers will be able to easily check the availability of new services on the coverage map.
