Telenor Selects Huawei for LTE Network Trial in Norway

Telenor has selected Chinese equipment vendor Huawei to install LTE radio access and EPC (Evolved Packet Core) equipment for its LTE trial in Oslo, Norway. The technology provided by Huawei will enable Telenor to test services and applications, including VOD, VoIP, network handover and network throughput. Huawei remains fully confident in meeting performance expectation in the upcoming trial in Norway using its cutting-edge technologies and customized solutions based on LTE.

Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. ("Huawei"), a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, today announced that Norwegian operator, Telenor, the world' s 7th largest provider of mobile communications, has chosen Huawei to provide LTE (Long Term Evolution) radio access and EPC (Evolved Packet Core) equipment for its LTE trial in Oslo, Norway.

Aimed at testing services and applications, such as VOD (Video-On-Demand), VOIP (Voice-Over-Internet Protocol), network handover and network throughput, the LTE trial will involve Telenor's Group Business Development & Research as well as several operating companies within the Group.

All the necessary equipments have been shipped to Oslo and installation has begun.
