|Orange Sets Mobile Internet Access Free in France|
Orange France has added three new mobile broadband Internet prepaid packages targeted at occasional users, as well as two new subscription plans aimed at frequent users. The operator has also unveiled a 3G+ MF636 dongle with 4 GB of memory and two new netbooks, the Samsung NC10 and the Asus Eee PC 1000HGO 3G+, available at EUR399 each. Orange offers the new mobile broadband packages over its EDGE and HSPA networks, which cover 75% and 99% of the population respectively.
With the Internet everywhere range reinvented, Orange continues to give access to mobile internet to everybody, offering its customers the widest mobile broadband coverage.
For occasional use
With the new Internet everywhere Passes(2), the user can surf the internet for longer: validity ranges from 2 weeks to a month.
For frequent or even intensive use, Orange has two packages
Orange is offering a 2h adjustable package at €9.90, with two new, more generous thresholds, allowing customers to minimize their bills, with automatic adjustment to the more advantageous option: either billing extra minutes used (€0.16 a minute by the second, from the 1st second), or adjusting to the best threshold (6h threshold: + €10, 12h threshold : + €20).
This package offers internet surfing with no time limit(3), with no additional charge, on compatible networks(4) in mainland France. Orange is offering the unlimited package at €29.90 a month for 6 months, then at €39.90 a month, with a 24-month contract(5)
A new 3G+ dongle with 4 gigabytes of memory included
Thanks to the 3G+ MF636 dongle with its 4 gigabytes of memory, the user can transport files and transfer them from one computer to another with the greatest of ease. Orange’s new 3G+ MF636 dongle is PC and Mac compatible, and will cost €19(6) with subscription to an Internet everywhere package (12 or 24 month contract) or €49(6) (€79 with €30 refunded(7)) with the Internet everywhere(2) Pass (no contract).
It is available from the beginning of May in France Telecom/Orange branches, at www.francetelecom.fr, and at www.orange.fr. This new 3G+ dongle is an addition to the 3G+(8) range, which already includes the 3G+ E160 (available as part of a boxed-set and on its own) and the 3G+ TNT E510 with integrated TNT tuner.
Two new netbooks join the Orange range:
Orange is also offering a new version of the Medion® Akoya® mini 1210, on sale at €349, offering double the independence and storage with a 6 cell battery and 160 gigabytes of hard disk.
