Critical Path today announced that Hutchison 3G has selected the Critical Path(TM) Internet File Server to provide online file storage and sharing services to customers. The Critical Path solution will be the foundation for Hutchison 3G's new storage service giving consumers the ability to manage, store and share a full range of multimedia content.

Hutchison 3G, which will offer third-generation mobile multimedia and communications services under the 3 brand will initially deploy the Critical Path solution in the UK, followed by the other markets where Hutchison Whampoa holds 3G licences.

"We selected Critical Path because its solution enables us to attract customers with its rich, intuitive multimedia and sharing capabilities," said Lisa Gernon, Strategy and Marketing director, Hutchison 3G UK. "Critical Path's Internet File Server integrates effectively with our existing infrastructure. The breadth and flexibility of the Critical Path solution will enable us to develop our services as we go forward."

"We continue to see demand from global carriers for new value-added services that help drive traffic and generate new revenue," said William McGlashan, Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of Critical Path. "Subscribers want to be able to save and share fun multimedia content, and Critical Path provides a secure and highly efficient online service that provides users with rich intuitive features for storing, accessing and sharing their favorite content and files from anywhere."
