German operator Telefónica O2 Germany has selected Option’s new HSPA-enabled USB modem. The iCON 210 is an entry level modem designed for use in Europe and the US. The HSPA-enabled modem, which will carry the O2 branding, will enable peak mobile broadband downlink speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps. Option has already started shipping the iCON 210 HSPA USB modem to Telefónica O2 Germany. The entry-level HSPA modem fits Telefónica O2 Germany’s strategy of increased price competition.
