|3 signs Yahoo!7 as portal advertising partner|
3 has today announced a partnership with Yahoo!7, leaders in mobile advertising, to exclusively sell display advertising for 3’s content portal, Planet 3, from 1 October 2008.
The partnership will see 3 and Yahoo!7 combine their expertise, enabling leading brands to offer consumers targeted advertising specifically created for the mobile environment. The Yahoo!7 sold adverts will be seen by visitors to Planet 3, which reaches 3’s customer base of over 1.8 million customers.
Angus Beattie, Manager of Mobile Advertising, 3 said, ”With the ever-increasing popularity of the mobile Internet and mobile content, more and more people are visiting 3’s portal and we’re in a great position to help brands reach our customers with a greater targeted and relevant advertising message.”
“We believe Yahoo!7 has the experience to help us take full advantage of our advanced portal and unique 3G subscriber base and bring our customers a great value-add service,” Mr Beattie said.
3 was one of the first entrants into the mobile advertising space in Australia and has over 65% of its customer base billed for internet access and content on Planet 3 each month. Planet 3 has already been successfully used by leading brands to reach key audiences as part of integrated digital advertising campaigns.

3 and Yahoo!7 intend to roll out the first Yahoo!7 sold mobile advertisements on Planet 3 in the coming weeks.
