|Mobile broadband at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA across all Vodafone Romania 3G network|

Vodafone Romania announces the launch of 3G broadband mobile data services at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps, across all its 3G network coverage. Vodafone Romania also introduces the HSUPA, which enables mobile data uplinks at speeds of up to 1.44 Mbps.
"Starting today, Vodafone Romania upgrades its mobile broadband speeds up to 7.2 Mbps and introduces the HSUPA option, in its entire 3G network coverage. The 3G broadband 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA services are currently available in a total number of 355 Romanian localities, for 45% of population. This launch is strengthened by new mobile data offerings in our portfolio and also by two new laptops, Toshiba and Dell, available on packages with 1 or 2 year subscriptions, at very competitive prices. We are confident that the new offers meet the higher demand of our customers for mobile broadband services, especially after the tremendous success of the recently launched mobile data packages with unlimited traffic", said Liliana Solomon, CEO Vodafone Romania.
Vodafone Romania 3G/HSDPA network includes, starting this month, 123 new localities for a total of 355, including 79 large cities, all the seaside resorts and over 25 mountain resorts, corresponding to a coverage of 45% of Romania population.
Vodafone Romania mobile data portfolio currently includes 5 wireless connectivity devices - E172 USB Stick, Pebble USB Modem, Vodafone Smart Modem, Vodafone Mobile Connect Card and Express Data Card - that can be used both for desktop and laptop. They available on packages with 1 or 2 year subscriptions. In addition, Vodafone Romania introduces 2 new laptop models, Toshiba and Dell, available on packages with mobile data subscriptions, at very advantageous prices.
New mobile data offers
Vodafone Romania customers benefit, starting today, from Internet access at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA for the Mobile Internet & Office 4 GB and Mobile Internet & Office 8 GB packages, with 4GB and respectively 8GB of traffic included, at EUR 18 and respectively EUR 27 per month.
Starting today, Vodafone Romania mobile data offering includes a new package with unlimited traffic. Unlimited Mobile Internet & Office, at EUR 27 / month, offers users download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps for a 8GB monthly traffic, as well as HSUPA which enables uplinks at speeds of up to 1.44 Mbps. The traffic exceeding 8GB will not be charged, while the available speed for extra traffic will be of up to 128 kbps.
Existing customers who are already using one of the Mobile Internet & Office 4 GB or Mobile Internet & Office 8 GB price plans, will automatically benefit, starting March 21, 2008, from Internet access at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps, as well as from HSUPA.
Starting March 21, 2008, Vodafone Romania customers will benefit from the most advantageous package on the market that includes a Toshiba Satellite L40-18Y laptop and the data card / USB modem, for EUR 545 (EUR 649, VAT included), for a two year mobile broadband subscription. This package can be also paid by installments. For 60 months credit term, the monthly installment will be of RON 69.3.
Vodafone brings Romanian users the first mobile connectivity solution including an embedded USB modem. The package, available starting April 2008, includes a Dell XPS M1530 CORE 2 DUO laptop, with an embedded connectivity device, at EUR 882 (EUR 1049, VAT included), for 2 year Vodafone Mobile Connect data subscription. This package can be also paid by installments. For 60 months credit term, the monthly installment will be of RON 111.93.
Vodafone Romania provides the most extended mobile data roaming offer as a distinct benefit from Vodafone global footprint. The 3G broadband - HSDPA services are available when roaming, in 26 countries / territories, through 33 operators: Germany, Portugal, Spain, UK, France, Belgium, Austria, Bulgaria, Finland, Hungary, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Holland, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Poland, Denmark, Croatia, Israel, New Zeeland, Japan, Luxembourg, Sweden, USA and Malta.
Focusing on making the mobile broadband even more accessible also when roaming, starting April 15, 2008, Vodafone Romania will reduce the data roaming tariffs by down to 67%, for price plans with monthly traffic included.
This month, Vodafone Romania finalized the migration of its 2G and 3G networks to a common IP-based core network, which includes the latest generation industry standards. The new platform is the only one in Romania and allows the interoperability of solutions from different suppliers, as well as the evolution towards the future technologies, such as LTE, Wimax.
