Option unveils iCON 225 wireless USB modem PDF Print E-mail

Option N.V., the wireless technology company, today unveiled its smallest HSDPA USB device so far at the Mobile Asia Congress in Macau, China. The iCON 225 is the Company’s response to the growing market demand for very small yet high-performance wireless connectivity solutions focused on consumer and prosumer segments. Option’s new iCON 225 is an HSDPA device, specifically aimed at mass market business. HSDPA is the world’s most commonly used 3G network technology. The device is already shipping to operator customers.

Small, light and fast wireless device

Measuring only 63 x 26 x 13 mm and just weighing 40 g, the iCON 225 is Option’s most compact HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) USB wireless modem to date. Offering data rates of up to 7.2 Mbps, the device can download an MP3 music file in five seconds or a YouTube video in a minute.

Worldwide e-mail and internet access
Incorporating quad-band EDGE, GPRS and GSM data connectivity as well as 2100 MHz HSDPA/UMTS, the iCON 225 is an easy-to-use and convenient data roaming solution that allows travellers to access e-mail and the internet virtually anywhere in the world. In addition, Option’s Advanced Receiver with equalizer ensures the iCON 225 delivers optimum performance. Option’s Zero-CDtm technology allows applications, manuals and drivers to be downloaded and installed automatically when the device is connected to a computer for the first time: CD installation and bulky printed instruction manuals have been eliminated.

Option unveiled the iCON 225 publicly today at the GSMA Mobile Asia Congress in Macau, China, 13-15 November 2007. The Option booth can be found in Hall D, stand J16.
