|Huawei launches HSDPA handset to help operators attract more 3G customers|
Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd, a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, has launched three fashionable 3G handsets including the U550 – an HSDPA cellphone – at CommunicAsia 2007 in Singapore.
With an ultra-slim design, the U550 flip-phone supports HSDPA3.6M / UMTS / EDGE / GSM operating frequency. It has touch-sensitive buttons that allows users to listen to music in many different file formats without flipping open the cellphone and it can be used as a high-speed modem by being plugged in to a PC or laptop. With no additional software installation it makes it the perfect phone for people who are always on the move. This is the handset for trendsetters who are always at the forefront of technology.
Huawei has also launched the U121, a UMTS handset with a cool and chic appearance and the U120 which is an entry-level music handset. With a steel mirror surface, the U121 has a music listening function and supports Bluetooth.
In addition to the handsets, Huawei has launched two 3G wireless devices the E960 and the E870. The E960 is an HSDPA Wireless Gateway with a simple and trendy appearance that can also be used as a mobile USB modem. Under the gateway mode, it supports WiFi wireless connection, which provides SMEs and home users with the convenience of high-speed Internet access. The E870 is an HSUPA wireless network card that supports an ExpressCard/34 slot.
All five products combine stylish design and powerful features and comply with operator standards and needs worldwide, helping them to grow the number of their 3G users quickly and increase the value of their operation.
From January to May 2007, Huawei has sold 17 million handsets, datacards, base stations and wireless gateway terminal products, up 60% from the same period last year. As of today, the sale of Huawei's wireless network cards has reached four million.
