|Services of the 3G network also for Tele Finland customers|
|Thursday, 31 May 2007|
As of the beginning of June, the customers of Tele Finland can enjoy the benefits provided by a fast 3G network. The network will cover more than 80 localities and over 50% of the population of Finland.
Tele Finland’s subcriptions have until now worked in Sonera’s GSM network, only. Opening a faster network for the customers became topical because the 3G network is becoming the standard of mobile communications. With the extension of Sonera’s 3G coverage, the customers of Tele Finland, too, can make use of the network services in more than 80 localities this year. The 3G network covers more than 50% of the Finnish population.
“Our goal is to have the highest-quality network in Finland, regardless of the technology, so that our customers are able to utilise the services they want with the terminals of their choice”, says Director Pasi Mehtonen of TeliaSonera Finland.
3G phones and new communication services are of interest to an ever-increasing number of customers. According to the recent trend study by Sonera, 60% of the respondents would like to use the mobile phone for navigation, and 40% for reading and sending e-mail. A quarter of the respondents under the age of 35 plans to start watching TV on the mobile phone.
A significant share of mobile services customers has not, on the other hand, wanted a bundled phone and subscription. The well-defined subscription selection of Tele Finland remains unchanged at the launching time of the 3G service, with no subscriptions being offered as tie-in sales.
Tele Finland offers the consumers basic mobile services at competitive prices. The benefits of cost-effective operations are passed on to the benefit of the customers. We provide the customers with subscriptions for basic communications and fair and clear pricing models.
