 Description Third generation technology providing a migratory path to 3G services for operators who have deployed second generation (cdmaOne) systems.  CDMA is an ITU-approved, IMT-2000 (3G) standard, divided into two phases: 1X introduces packet data with theoretical speeds up to 144 kbps. 3X supports circuit and packet data and advanced service capabilities up to a theoretical 2 Mbps.
