3G technology company, UbiNetics, is expanding its presence in the Far East with the opening of an office in Taiwan and the appointment of David You as vice-president for Asia.

The Taiwan office marks the latest stage in UbiNetics' strategy to expand its global reach, as the company seeks to establish a strong local presence in each market in Asia.

David You joins UbiNetics with ten years' experience in business development. He was previously Asia MD for Condat. Prior to this, he spent 16 years at Inventec, a Taiwanese electronic products company.

In his new role, You will head the business development of UbiNetics' IP products in the Asia Pacific region. This will ensure the company can meet the increasing demand for its 3G solution in a rapidly expanding market.

"The Far East is fast becoming a crucial market for UbiNetics' technology. Previously, business development in the region was driven from our UK headquarters, supported by our Hong Kong operations. The Taiwanese office and the appointment of You on the ground will put the company on the front foot and enable UbiNetics to maximise every opportunity in the Far East," said Bjrn Krylander, CEO at UbiNetics.

"David brings with him a wealth of experience and invaluable local market expertise. We are confident he will be an invaluable asset to the company and expand our presence in the Far East."
