On August 1st, SK Telecom launched its representative mobile service brand called 'T', and a series of 'T' brands that include a T 3G+ for HSDPA, a T Plan for service rates and a T World for customer exploratorium shops.
By changing '3G+', the conventional HSDPA brand to the 'T 3G+' brand, SK Telecom is rapidly strengthening its service competitiveness in cutting-edge high-speed networks. The HSDPA service was commercialized by SK Telecom for the first time in the world, last May
The 3G+ network allows for high-speed data transmission, high-quality video telephony, and convenient international automatic roaming services. With the 'T 3G+' brand, SK Telecom plans to reinforce the competitive-edge of its HSDPA service in such area as service rate plans, as well as coverage and handsets.
A 'T 3G+ Control Rate Plan' and a 'T 3G+ Streaming Video Coupled Option Plan' were newly introduced exclusively for HSDPA subscribers. These rate plans will be prime movers in promoting the T 3G+ service in the future.
The 'T 3G+ Control Rate Plan' lets subscribers enjoy free calls of voice, data and video telephony of their own choice, with a monthly flat rate of KRW22,000. In the case of selecting the free calls in voice only, 100 minutes of free call benefits are offered. T 3G+ service coverage will be extended to 48 cities by the end of August and 84 cities nationwide by the end of October 2006. As such, T 3G+'s high-speed network service subscribers are expected to increase at a rapid pace.
In addition to existing HSDPA service-enabled handsets (Model: SCH-W200 of Samsung Electronics and LG SH-100 of LG Electronics), SK Telecom plans to release the new model (SCH-W210) by this August, and 4~5 new models within this year. In doing so, the company will broaden the subscribers' choices in HSDPA service-enabled handsets.
SK Telecom is poised to reinforce the T 3G+ product competitiveness by continuing to release high-speed network-based premium content, and a variety of streaming video-based value added services, by the end of this year.

The 'T Plan' consists of two newly launched T 3G+ rate plans, a Three-Three rate plan (Voice Call Plan), a Long Call Traffic Free Option (Voice Call Option Plan), a Data Safety Fixed Rate Plan (Wireless Data Plan), a VU Fixed Rate Plan (Streaming Video Plan) and a Text Photo 500 (Messaging Plan).
The'T Plan' is designed to present safety guidelines that let subscribers comfortably choose rate plans in the major service areas. This rate plan will be used as a leading brand in service rate plans, in conjunction with the company's strong efforts to secure a competitive edge in service rates.
Under the brand of 'T World' SK Telecom will keep extending the establishment of customer exploratorium shops equipped with the latest services and stylish interior designs. The company plans to open a total of 50 shops in major cities across the country by the end of this August, and expand this into about 200 shops by end of this year.
Last May, SK Telecom started strengthening the functions of customer exploratorium shops as a part of its customer value enhancement programs. In line with this, the company changed the staffs' uniforms in the shops in order to upgrade the shops' atmosphere. By increasing the T World brand image SK Telecom is committed to becoming the trend setter in customer care services in mobile communications.
'We applied 'T', a representative mobile service brand to the new brands of HSDPA service, service rate plans and sales channels. 'T' functions as a ubiquitous network service by breaking the limitations of existing mobile services. This is our first step toward realizing substantial customer value through differentiated services and cutting-edge technologies" said Bang Hyung Lee, executive vice-president, and head of SK Telecom's Business Group.
