Vodafone Introduces the BlackBerry 8707v PDF Print E-mail

Vodafone has extended its range of UMTS-enabled phones to include a brand new BlackBerry handheld. The BlackBerry(R) 8707v(TM) is perfect for business users who want to work efficiently when they are out of the office. It is the first genuine all-in-one device, allowing users to make voice calls, automatically send and receive e-mails and browse the Internet or Intranet.

The BlackBerry 8707v handheld is supports both UMTS and GPRS/GSM in 850/900/1800/1900 MHz networks (quadband). Mobile globetrotters can use it in almost all digital mobile networks around the world - even in Japan and Korea. Vodafone already provides UMTS network coverage in more than 1800 German towns and cities. Key features of the BlackBerry 8707v include e-mail, telephony, SMS, browser, organiser and corporate data applications. It can also be used as a wireless UMTS modem for high-speed Internet or Intranet access via laptop. The necessary software will soon be available free of charge from Vodafone. The BlackBerry 8707v features a full QUERTY keyboard for convenient text entry. A built-in speakerphone makes it ideal for hands-free working, and the device can also be connected to a wireless headset or car kit via Bluetooth(TM).

Vodafone BlackBerry Service users with the appropriate devices can send, receive and edit e-mails automatically and in real time. They can also download e-mail attachments. The new BlackBerry 8707v integrates attachment viewing that supports popular text and image file formats such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Corel, WordPerfect, Adobe PDF, as well as JPEG, BMP and TIFF image file formats.

It is now available from the Vodafone shops and specialist retailers. The BlackBerry 8707v costs EUR 269.50 in connection with a minimum 24-month term contract, a one-off connection charge of EUR 25, a monthly package price of EUR 25 and low connection rates, e.g. standard domestic calls cost up to EUR 0.50/min. Without a contract, the handheld costs EUR 699.90.
