Tuesday, 20 June 2006

After just six months of acquiring the 3G license, Sonofon opens up it's 3G network in the four largest Danish cities. In this trial run a large number of customers are to try out the new technology until Sonofon's final 3G launch in Q3.

"We are on schedule with our roll out of 3G in Denmark and we are very pleased with the fact that only six months after having acquired the 3G license, we are ready for the trial run in Copenhagen, rhus, Odense and Aalborg. We have been able to benefit greatly from Telenor's experience with 3G enabling us to roll out the Danish 3G network rapidly and effectively. We expect to launch 3G services in Q3 for all customers," says Jesper Hansen, head of Strategic Projects & New Markets in Sonofon.

The trial run is initiated only six months after Sonofon acquired license to build the new mobile network that provides fast mobile data transmissions and new mobile services.

A large number of B2B customers are participating in the trial run where they will be using mobile data cardphones to employ mobile broadband in order to access the internet with up to 384 kbit/s.
