| Nokia Siemens Networks Increases China Unicom 3G Service Quality China Unicom has deployed Nokia Siemens Networks’ (NSN) real-time traffic monitoring and analysis tool to ensure more consistent, higher quality and faster 3G mobile broadband services for the operator’s subscribers visiting the World Expo in Shanghai. NSN’s end-to-end solution helps to identify capacity problems and support real-time network optimization, enabling quicker resolution of customer issues. |

| Orange Leads Groundbreaking HSPA Pilot in the 1800 MHz Band to Boost the UMTS1800 Ecosystem Orange plans to start trials of HSPA in the 1800 MHz band in November in France in partnership with equipment vendor Ericsson and chipset maker Qualcomm. The trial is aimed at increasing 3G capacity by re-farming the 2G frequency band to address increasing demand from operators and consumers and to stimulate the 1800 MHz HSPA ecosystem. Ericsson will provide its multi-standard RBS 6000 base stations, with Qualcomm offering chipset devices that support both 900 MHz and 1800 MHz 2G, as well as 900 MHz, 1800 MHz and 2.1 GHz 3G/HSPA. |

| TELUS to Increase Canada's Fastest Wireless Data Network Speeds Canada’s TELUS intends to deploy HSPA+ Dual Carrier technology to boost peak downlink speeds delivered by its network to 42 Mbps. HSPA+ Dual Carrier technology uses advanced multiplexing techniques to combine two wireless data carriers operating at manufacturer-rated speeds of up to 21 Mbps each, into a single carrier with theoretical downlink speeds of up to 42 Mbps. TELUS will launch new HSPA+ Dual Carrier compatible devices during the first quarter of 2011. |

| AT&T and Research In Motion Ignite Customers with the New BlackBerry Torch Research in Motion (RIM) has launched its flagship Torch 9800 smartphone with AT&T in the US. The Torch 9800 is RIM’s first smartphone featuring the revamped BlackBerry 6 operating system and BlackBerry App World pre-installed. The HSDPA-enabled device combines a full touchscreen experience with easy-to-use keyboard and rich WebKit-based browser. | Batelco Introduces New and Improved Great Value O-net Mobile Broadband Packages for Postpaid Customers Bahrain’s Batelco has upgraded its O-net mobile broadband packages. Batelco’s BD8 Student O-net Package and the BD10 (US$26.50) Package have been enhanced to offer an increased 4GB capacity, while the BD25 package includes 40 GB. The operator has launched a new 20 GB package at BD20 per month. Batelco also offers postpaid O-net bundles, branded BD2, BD5 and BD14, with 100MB, 500MB and 6GB capacity respectively. |

| Japan's SOFTBANK MOBILE Chooses Ericsson Mobile Broadband Solution Japan’s SoftBank Mobile has selected Ericsson’s Service Aware Support Node (SASN) solution to provide expanded capabilities to its increasing number of smartphone subscribers. The SASN provides optimized utilization of network resources through sophisticated traffic inspection functionality, ensuring consistent quality of service. The SASN solution also enables differentiated offerings based on individual subscriber needs, as well as flexible charging options. SoftBank Mobile will also deploy Ericsson’s SmartEdge IP router, which expands the available bandwidth, accommodating more traffic and subscribers. |

| Update on the Digital Dividend and the 900 MHz Band Liberalisation Process The Irish government has announced that analogue terrestrial television will be switched off in the fourth quarter of 2012, in conjunction with switch over in Northern Ireland. The move will allow the country’s telecoms regulator (ComReg) to release the 790-862 MHz frequency band, enabling the introduction of new mobile broadband services. The ComReg is also currently consulting on the liberalisation of the use of the 900 MHz spectrum band, which will be released together with the Digital Dividend spectrum. |
