| Etisalat Delivers Fastest Mobile Broadband in the World Using End-to-End IP Network Etisalat has completed the upgrade of its 3G mobile network using HSDPA technology, which will enable peak download speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps across the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Combined with its nationwide investment in fibre-optic infrastructure, Etisalat will now be able to deliver advanced mobile broadband services using an end-to-end all-IP network. To take advantage of Etisalat’s upgraded HSDPA network customers are required to use a compatible modem or data card. |

| Intel and Nokia Announce Strategic Relationship to Shape Next Era of Mobile Computing Innovation Intel has entered into a long-term relationship with Nokia to define a new mobile platform beyond today's smartphones, notebooks and netbooks. This strengthened tie-up between the two companies will enable the development of a variety of innovative hardware, software and mobile Internet services. Under the initiative, Nokia will put Intel’s processors in its mobile devices, while Intel will acquire a Nokia HSPA/3G modem IP license for use in future products. |

| ZTE Inks Contract with Telkomsel to Build GSM/UMTS Network in Indonesia Chinese vendor ZTE has been selected as one of the core equipment providers by Indonesia’s Telkomsel for the rollout of its GSM/UMTS network. Under the terms of the deal, ZTE will deploy a GSM/UMTS network for Telkomsel in Indonesia, using its advanced GSM/UMTS solutions. Telkomsel, jointly owned by Indonesia's Telkom and SingTel, aims to roll out its 3G mobile broadband network to 147 cities by 2013. |

| HTC Sense Debuts on New HTC Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC has unveiled the HTC Hero, its third device based on Google’s Android operating system. The HSDPA-enabled HTC Hero features a 3.2-inch HVGA display, GPS, WiFi, a 5-megapixel auto-focus camera and expandable MicroSD memory. It will be available across Europe in July and in Asia later in the summer, while a North American version will be available later in 2009. |
