Telkomsel and Ericsson Sign Three-Year Contract for 2G and 3G Mobile Networks in Indonesia
Ericsson has signed a three-year contract with Indonesian mobile operator Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel) to supply, deploy and integrate its GSM/EDGE and WCDMA/HSPA radio access networks. Ericsson's technology will enable Telkomsel to expand its existing network coverage and deliver enhanced voice and data services. |

Huawei has completed the upgrade of T-Mobile Austria's core data network three months ahead of schedule. Vodafone to Bring 3G Access to Rural Subscribers in New Zealand
Vodafone New Zealand is planning to expand its 3G WCDMA/HSPA network in the rural areas using the 900 MHz spectrum with Finland’s Nokia Siemens Networks as its technology partner. Following the network expansion, its 3G network will cover 97% of the population. The Nokia Siemens Networks 900MHz solution will enable Vodafone New Zealand to deliver HSPA with the highest efficiency, with 65% less sites and 70% lower power consumption per site. |

Vodafone Germany has announced plans to launch the HTC Magic, the first touch screen device based on Google’s Android operating system. Together with the Taiwanese manufacturer, Vodafone Germany will exclusively market the HTC Magic smartphone in Germany starting from April 2009.The HSPA-enabled HTC Magic device provides peak downlink rates of up to 7.2 Mbps and up to 2 Mbps in the uplink. The high-performance device can be enhanced with an array of applications available via the Android Market. |
