Alcatel-Lucent announced that Tikiphone, French Polynesia’s leading mobile service provider, will soon launch the region’s first 3G+ network by upgrading its network to High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) technology to support a full range of high-speed mobile Internet and data services.
Ericsson has been selected by Telcel - Mexico's leading mobile operator and a subsidiary of América Móvil - to provide microwave-transmission links for high-speed mobile broadband.
Sony Ericsson announced the expansion of its carrier channels in the U.S. to include wireless leader T-Mobile USA, starting with the launch of the TM506 in early September.
3G Americas, a wireless industry group supporting the GSM family of technologies in the Americas, has published an updated white paper on the International Telecommunications Union's (ITU) process in defining IMT-Advanced or "4G."
