NTT DOCOMO Unveils 19 Handsets in New 906i and 706i Series
NTT DOCOMO, INC. and its eight regional subsidiaries announced today the new 906i and 706i series comprising 19 handsets and 64 body colors, which will be launched on or after June 1.
Zapp selects ZTE to build 3G network in Romania
ZTE today announced it has been selected by Zapp, Romania's fourth largest mobile operator, to roll-out a WCDMA/HSDPA commercial network. This deal further reinforces ZTE position in Europe. Zapp plans on launching its 3G commercial services in early autumn 2008 and the network should be completed by 2011.
MTS launches 3G in Russia
Mobile TeleSystems OJSC, the largest mobile phone operator in Russia and the CIS, announced the commercial launch of its 3G network in Saint Petersburg and technical readiness of 3G networks for commercial launch in Sochi, Yekaterinburg and Kazan.
DOCOMO to Offer High-Speed Mobile Data/VoIP for Home Broadband Networks
NTT DOCOMO, INC. and its eight regional subsidiaries today announced a service that will enable DOCOMO FOMA™ third-generation handsets to connect to home broadband networks via wireless LAN routers, allowing mobile phone users to enjoy 54 Mbps high-speed packet communication and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), beginning in June.
Leading Dutch operator T-Mobile Netherlands has signed a four-year strategic-partnership contract with Ericsson. The agreement, which follows T-Mobile's acquisition of Orange in the Netherlands, will result in the continuation and expansion of existing contracts, cementing Ericsson's position in the Dutch market.
