Responding to EU Telecoms Commissioner Viviane Reding’s statements at the CeBIT trade fair in Hannover and last month’s EICTA General Assembly, the UMTS Forum – through its Joint UMTS Forum and GSM Association Mobile TV Group – has offered a series of Recommendations to the EC for the rollout of Mobile TV across the European Union.
KTF successfully launched a commercial HSUPA, which has dramatically improved the performance of the 3rd generation mobile internet service. It is an inspiring achievement after about 100 days of KTF’s nationwide commercial HSDPA service launch.
The recently covered cities – where T-Mobile subscribers can connect to the net via broadband – include: Budakeszi, Balatonszéplak, Kaposvár, Nyíregyháza, Székesfehérvár, Szombathely, Taksony, Tihany, Salgótarján, Szekszárd, Zalaegerszeg, Üröm, Dunakeszi and Veresegyháza.
Ericsson is building an HSPA-enabled 3G network for leading Argentinean operator, Personal. Ericsson will also expand and modernize Personal's existing network with its Mobile Softswitch solution.
Alcatel-Lucent today announced that it has been selected by Telecom New Zealand as its technology partner for the deployment of a new third-generation (3G) Wideband-CDMA (W-CDMA)/High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) network deployment.
